from_params cannot accept a pandas dataframe as input.

🐛 Describe the bug

I received an error when passing a pandas dataframe to a from params object.

Truth value of a Series is ambiguous. Use a.empty, a.bool(), a.item(), a.any() or a.all()

The error is thrown for this line:

Its ambiguous as the condition is evaluated element wise on the dataframe.
