This patch adds the Signed-off-by: User Name <[email protected]> line to
a git.UserCommit. The surrounding documentation and error messages have
been improved as well.

This patch adds the `Signed-off-by: User Name <[email protected]>` line to
a `git.UserCommit`. The surrounding documentation and error messages have
been improved as well.
